21st Century Editor in Chief Panel
By BradStenger | January 22, 2008
An innovation is just an idea until the person in the corner office signs off and makes it real. We wanted to get a sense for what executive decisions are like for people at the top of the editorial pyramid. Specifically, we’re eager to learn how an Editor in charge assesses new technologies, and how he or she chooses among different opportunities to innovate, whether it’s for back-office productivity or public-facing content. Our moderator and panelists:
- Shawn MacIntosh, Director of Culture and Change at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution
- Mitch Gelman, senior vice president and executive producer of CNN.com
- Christopher Barr, senior editorial director at Yahoo! and former founding Editor in Chief of CNet Networks
- Moderator: Gary Kebbel, Program Director at the Knight Foundation in charge of the Knight News Challenge
Topics: Agenda/Program, Content Management, News Gathering, News Interfaces, Panels, Productivity |
